About Us
Livestock Animal Sanctuary in South Middleboro as of January 1st, 2010, home to Journey's End Ranch owned by David and Michelle Rogers raising llamas and alpacas nestled on 5 acres between cranberry bogs. A group of folks recently got together and established Promising Hope Animal Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and we are opening the barn doors to all livestock.... we presently have horses, llamas, alpacas, donkeys, goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, etc.
Promising Hope will offer 2 main services: Education for people and Animal Services.
The 1st is an educational aspect for people and consist of monthly seminars from May through October, ex: llamas and alpacas 101, each month will be a different animal subject teaching proper care and husbandry along with the vendors offering for sale; supplies, nutrition, services, etc of that subject matter.
The farm also plans to be open to the public for Farm Tours from May through October on Sundays only for now from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
(see the Calendar of Events page) (groups are welcome upon request)
The 2nd is animal placement, assistance and rescue services at four levels - our "Love at First Sight" level will be matchmaker/resource info only matching lists of people wanting animals to animals needing homes. If you have animals needing new homes or can provide animals with new homes, please send an email to Michelle at PromisingHope2U@aol.com to be added to our list. The second level will be an assistance program where we can offer transportation and/or whatever helps that animal to its new home. The third and fourth levels are rescue levels if an animal needs to be surrendered or removed immediately, we will assist with removing that animal either directly by the owner's request or accept them from a municipality, all animals will have medical evaluations by our vet at this level and assessment for adoptions. Non-adoptable animals will stay with us at the sanctuary. (See Sanctuary Services page)
We ask that you do not dump animals off at this sanctuary unannounced, we have a certain number of slots available per animal type to prevent overcrowding and will do our best at helping All animals find a safe place until "forever" homes can be found.
If you are a farm in the Massachusetts area or bordering states and would like to assist us in our fostering program, please email Michelle at the above email address and become a foster farm. Currently looking for farms interested in taking horses, cows, sheep and pigs if they were to become available or through surrender.
We want to have 4 age groups of volunteers: Youth Program - 6 to 10 yrs of age, 11-15 yrs of age and 16-18 yrs of age along with those interested in Internships and 18+ age group.
People interested in helping at the sanctuary are all welcome to participant. We need many types of volunteers; people to work with the animals, odd jobs around the farm; repair buildings, fencing, etc. along with people offering their expertise in Public Relations, Grant Writers, Newspaper Reporters, Marketing, Advertising, Financial Advice and Fundraising.
