On May 12th, 2010, Promising Hope donated 350 lbs of llama and alpaca fiber to help "The Sunshine and Shores Foundation" a new non-profit, who is spearheading efforts down south to help get woven mats made of donated hair and fiber and then stuffed into panty hose to be used as oil-collecting booms to help absorb and contain the Gulf Oil spill.
Robin Payne of "The Sunshine and Shores Foundation" says "she was very pleased with the response from the Alpaca and Llama communities and the generosity of donations pouring in and wanted them to all know how much they appreciate our help!"
